In this economy, you certainly can’t go wrong with free food. Actually, you could go wrong. I wouldn’t be accepting any large “discounted” vats of peanut butter, for instance.
Still, you probably shouldn’t balk at most free food.

Consider Save-A-Lot’s free pasta dinner giveaway this Saturday, when Save-A-Lot stores will be giving away a full uncooked pasta dinner to 4,000 families. The dinner includes pasta sauce, garlic bread-sticks, canned veggies, and a box of pasta. In addition to the giveaway, Save-A-Lot will donate a similar meal to the Oregon Food bank for the first 1,000 meals they give to customers.

So it isn’t fresh, and you may have to give them an e-mail address, but never the less… It’s Free!

I know you’re used to whipping up a savory bolognaise and pulling your noodles by hand (I know who you are), but just think of this as your chance to practice your doctoring skills. I know they’ve come in handy for me recently.

Hit the Save-A-Lot website for your free meal voucher, and head to the store at 6828 SE Foster Rd between 8 am and noon on Saturday.

  1. Save-A-Lot is one of the freakiest grocery stores around. Everyone there is just out of jail or just getting ready for jail. The food for the most part is so high in salt and fat you die just reading the ingredients. Sure the “Dinner” is free, but nothing is free my friend. You have to get there and then you have wait in line behind a tweaker that smells like a bathroom in a vomit and piss factory. Your better off buying a big bag of flour and a couple cans of tomato sauce. BTW All Save-A-Lot stores are located in low income depressed neighborhoods. The other in Poorland Save-A-lot is located in Felony Flats. Sad but true.

  2. true, pantywaste, but its FREE high-fat high-sodium food.

oh wait, is this a ploy to make sure they don’t run out before you get there? I mean, ahem, yeah what he said!
