Local on-demand publishers Publication Studio are trying out something new with their next back room dinner. Here’s the menu for the event Matthew Stadler & co. are cooking up:
Menu: arepas (meat and vegetarian) and fried plantains by Caraquena Venezuelan; fresh summer salad and wood-fired pizza (meat and vegetarian) by Pizza Depokos; Pad Khing (meat and vegetarian) and sticky rice with fresh mango from Sila Thai.

A four-course sit-down dinner for 24 at Refuel North Station, with Israeli architect Malkit Shoshan. She is brilliant, about to publish her first book ATLAS OF THE CONFLICT, which we’ll discuss. For this event, we’re publishing a section of the book in a limited edition (a copy is included free with your ticket).

Dinner and conversation is followed by an outdoor screening of PLAYTIME, Jacques Tati’s 1967 comic send-up of 20th-century modernist architecture.
Shosan is behind the Foundation of Seamless Territory (FAST!), an Amsterdam-based architecture practice that “aims to make visible and counter the reality of segregation and human right violation using architecture and planning instruments.” Her work focuses, from what I can glean from that rabbit hole of a website, on how the creation or destruction of a built environment can in itself constitute a human rights violation, with a particular emphasis on the Israel/Palestine conflict.
