Food Carts Portland has been tapped by The National Street Food Conference to select a cart to represent Portland in their upcoming national showcase. It’s been narrowed down to Big-Ass Sandwiches, Euro Trash, Whiffies, Nong’s Khao Man Gai, the People’s Pig, DC Vegetarian, and PDX671. The polls close, so click over and decide which cart you can live without for a weekend in August. The winner will head to San Francisco to hobnob with street vendors from around the country.

By all rights, that street food fest really ought to be coming to us.
I love Nong’s too. That girl can cook up a mean plate of Hainanese chicken rice .
@JStreckert: I think the festival is going to where there’s more consumers, not producers.
I still only eat at brick-and-mortar places.
Whiffies? Really? I’m happy for their success and all, but it’s the kind of cart you eat at once and never need to again.
And Whiffies raised their prices! ๐
My faves aren’t on this list. I’m abstaining from voting.
How is this list made?
In the comment section someone reveals that these are the only ones out of 30 asked that said they’d be willing to go.
DC Veg is my choice. But homegrown smoker and shelly’s get my honorable mentions.
Wolf and Bears.
