Microsoft has fired Robert Delaware, a temporary employer of the firm who spoke candidly with VentureBeat’s Dean Takahashi on the technical problems of the Xbox 360.
According to Mr. Delaware, Microsoft knew all about its console’s tendency to spontaneously die — unsurprisingly the suits in Redmond didn’t take too kindly to Delaware outing them like that and kicked him to the curb only days after the article ran.
I’m torn on this one.
As a “gaming journalist” who has still had to return his console for repair 3 times over the last 2 years, I’d like to write a stirring folk song about Mr. Delaware’s heroism.
At the same time, as an adult who doesn’t consider patchouli and incense a proper hygiene regimen, I have to point out that Mr. Delaware knew he’d be fired for breaking the non-disclosure agreement he must have signed when going to work for Microsoft.
So what say you public? Do we riot in the streets or are you up for another night of leisurely apathy?

Good on him, but why risk his job and possible (probable?) litigation to tell us something we already knew?
