Ironic that some of the most mean-spirited, bigoted people I've met were gay men and lesbians. God help you if you are queer but don't fit into one of those stereotypical queer categories.

1) People of all stripes are generally assholes.

2) I'm impressed with anyone who comes through the warping effect of growing up queer in this country without emerging somewhat more maladjusted and bitter than those who didn't share that experience.
