How long does it take you to word associate “Target” with “anti-equality”? Probably not very long. And the giant seller of All Kinds of Stuff knows it, having made a million headlines with their public support of Republican Tom “let’s ban gay marriage” Emmer. Even though the company’s excuse that they donated $150k indirectly, to the Emmer-promoting MN Forward business group, out of purely economic interests, is sloppy, but plausible, it doesn’t matter: Gay rights supporters far and wide now make the connection, and it will take a lot of effort on their part to undo that association. Here’s a baby step:
