I was listening to Mayor Stan Pulliam(R) of Sandy Oregon rant on Fox News this morning on my drive to work. He swears that his city will obey COVID rules just please open their businesses. If the dumb (expletives) were following the rules his area wouldn’t be in the most dangerous category.
Mr. Mayor, your citizens were the ones protesting in the summer on your streets without masks. If you, Mr. Mayor, had done YOUR job and actually listened to science instead of the GOP Party line, your citizens might not be in such a dangerous situation that the governor was forced to shut you down.
This is a pandemic Mr. Mayor, it is not a ploy or a plot to take down the messiah of your party. Now that the impact is effecting you, your claim that your citizens will play nice rings extremely false.
It is time for you to LEAD Mr. Mayor and support the policies that will limit the spread of this deadly disease until such time as a sufficient number of YOUR citizens are vaccinated. I hope your prove me wrong and lead your citizens to safer actions, but your rant on Fox News tells me your not ready to follow guidelines rather than being the head cheerleader for the Q Conspiracy nuts (yes nuts Mr. Mayor) of your party. Grow a pair Mr. Mayor and lead by example and words.
I live in Sandy and agree with this writer 100%. Our supposed non-partisan mayor has become a lapdog for the right. Maybe he’s influenced by all the big pickups with Trump flags driving around town.
The key words to understand your letter are in the opening line: “on my drive to WORK.” People like you are the biggest hypocrites, since you are literally driving to your JOB, where you get to WORK, to make a SALARY. These people in Sandy do not have the luxury of working, as you do. These business owners, whether Democrats or Republicans, are not able to make a living wage right now because Chairman Kate has decided that it’s more important that Costco and Walmart make a profit. That is why they are opening, in protest, and that is why the mayor is backing them. It has nothing to do with political affiliations, and if you turned off NPR while drinking your cappuccino in your Prius, maybe you would have a moment to think about it, instead of regurgitating liberal media talking points.

The citizens of Sandy and elsewhere have themselves to blame for the harsh shutdown. FREEDOM doesn’t mean you have the right to endanger others. Not wearing a mask endangers others. So keep bitching that your shut down. Frankly Scarlet, I don’t give a damn.
