I didn't write this IA, but should have. I'm totally against the greed of the landlords and think they are scum. I really loved the way Portland used to be and sad it's gone. But if you thought you could hide from the man here forever, you were a fool. I saw this shit coming from a mile away and always knew it was only a matter of time before the yuppi douchefest would show up and do what they did to Seattle. So I bought a house when the market hit bottom, the same time apartment vacancy hit 4%. Didn't cost much more than a security deposit, first & last at the time. But if i wasn't locked in here, there's no way in hell i'd stay for this shit. Almost everything is gone and you want to hang on to what? At $2.50 per sq fr? I would just say fuck you, see ya later, it was fun while it lasted. The biggest mistake that most people continually make is thinking what is, will always be.
And I like the direction that ia is going. It could use a little work though.
