Another Sosh Medi Rant

Pix of food, babies, kids, selfies, where you currently are, who you’re with, places you visited, questions about your cat, yard, car, garden, best place to get a burger, haircut, social commentary about the hot topic in town or the world, sharing thoughts like it’s a prophecy, everyday pictures saying “look what I saw,” how sad you are for your loss, sharing posts of an image with a quote someone else made up, expressing your positions on guns and France, like you’re the only one with a unique view, then shoving it down our throats as your trophy. The list is endless. Its all about unoriginality, immediacy, validation, attention, acceptance, assurance, and narcissism. All of which are pathetic reasons for doing anything. Like being in high school again. If you aren’t an active user, no one sees your posts because Facebook is programmed to show feeds or friends that are active. Some friends post I never see! That’s scary. This I like your stuff then you like my stuff back. Liking a comment that shows how angry or hateful a person is. Someone liking every post or comment but your own. All these invites to events that noone bothers to have respect to even say no to. Endless, useless info to see, and process, along with ads, in a constant stream. People think this is NORMAL!? Facebook pages have taken the place of actual websites too. I get on for a minute, then 30 minutes later wondering what the fuck I’m doing, what a waste of time. Even if I don’t want to see it, I still do.
