All of the issues that (usually right wing) media like to zoom in on, distort, and ultimately blown out of proportion have all existed in Portland for decades, going back, really, as far as I can remember. This city was always fucking nuts and in way (in some cases) is why I love it. Sure there’s plenty we can still change for the better. But no amount of “the worst it’s ever been” or “never in my life have I ever..” (which usually aren’t even true) will make me not love Portland. Now is the BEST time to be living in this city. We’ve proven our resilience at this point, and that’s not going to change. We work on our faults (our true faults not just political bullshit) and make things better. And it’s going to keep getting better. There’s a reason why our population continues to grow and it’s laughable that right wing media would ever cause more than blip in the radar or a seconds long pause in that regard.

The fucking sun comes out every fucking day in this goddamn desert for seven fucking months.
We’ve had about a four hours total of rain since last April.
You fucking whiners will be saying “enjoy he sun!” as if it isn’t blasting here all summer, most of the spring, much of the fall, and some of the winter.
And you are too stupid to get professional help for your mass hallucinations that this isn’t a climate of mild winters and moderate rain.
