Bright and early, more like dark and wretched. Way to kick a man when he’s down. There I was strolling for some chips when suddenly a chip vendor just has to barge her display case at me making me move. Mind you, there were no words, no pleasantries, just actions of get the fuck out of my way. To top it all off, the cashier has all the decency to tell the man behind me good morning after she’s said not a thing to me. What am I invisible? A doormat? Worthless? You notice these things more when you’re down and out. Then I’m going to work where I’ll take shit and clean up shit all day. At work, maybe I suck in my pride, but now in the world you tell me I’m going to have take more disappointment and degradation. Kick a man when he’s down and his self esteem is completely flattened. Here’s to another terrible day. Thanks for making me feel like nobody every day.

  1. I take shit and clean up shit every day at work …and thank my lucky stars I’m not doing it in A country that doesn’t end with -Stan.

  2. Try to remember that you can’t control the actions of others, only your reaction to those actions. By reacting in a negative way, you allow others to control your mind.

  3. Stop taking their shit. Take the initiative. Tell that chip vendor she is blocking your way. Say hi to that cashier before she can snub you. Then if she snubs you, just say “I’m doing great, thanks for asking.” Ignore the snubs.

  4. A chip vendor is the person who restocks the chips. Duh?

Anon, I think you may be suffering from some of the seasonal depression. You need to take a daily dose of Vitamin D and try to get some light on yourself when you can. Good luck!
