Why the fuck is there a needle exchange a few blocks away from Roosevelt High School in North Portland? It’s not even 1 for 1 exchange. Which means, you just show up and get a nice clean needle to inject heroin or any other addiction that’s ruining the lives of millions, no questions asked. Why are these facilities in neighborhoods where kids ride bicycles and not in the city center? Why do they exist in the first fucking place!!! We have plenty of drug treatment centers all over this city. Here is a direct quote from their website – PPOP distributes new syringes, clean injection supplies, and overdose prevention tools to injection drug users in Portland…. It’s like they advertise for business. Who is paying for this shit?!?! Who are these people and why are they not arrested?!?! I can’t believe this is happening in the neighborhood. It feels like Portland cares more about drug addicts than the children. Is this a bad dream? Am I not understanding something? Please, please, please, set up your fucking needle exchange in downtown where needles can be disposed of properly.
Needle exchange in my neighborhood

I agree with the IA post. This shit shouldn’t be around schools or so lawless. #2 Compassion for people who are fucked up? Nobody is forced to do drugs, it’s a choice. The children are who deserve the most compassion. Not a middle aged white dude who had their opportunity. Plus, if you just look at the website, it’s not a fucking exchange at all. They give out free needles and don’t ask for the used ones. Just more needles spreading around the city. They even have t-shirts that promote shooting up as if it’s a lifestyle others should accept. It’s pathetic and the PCC (Portland Coddling Community) are the suckers.
So I shouldn’t mention the used needle drop in the public library bathrooms then?
@someguy267 how about compassion for a kid who comes across a used needle. One that the exchange provided. Pokes him/herself, in the hospital now with all the reasons you mentioned above. I don’t care if my example is rare or perhaps even a 1 in 1k chance, but it happens. It happens because junkies don’t give a damn about the community they occupy. They want to live the fairland lifestyle and have no concern with the impact of a used syringe. I’m all for compassion, I’m just not going to hold the hand of a junky who ignores help and continues to use. This exchange program is simply that. It’s an excuse to provide drug addicts with the tools they need to live the drug addict lifestyle and the city of Portland accepts drug abuse as a life choice not a problem….. just like the being homeless I guess. For some it’s a life choice, not a problem
The N, the I, and the M were all there in the headline…why go with “neighborhood” instead of going for the B and the Y? Poser.
“It feels like Portland cares more about drug addicts than the children.”
It does.
