All that hype about Friendly, polite Oregon drivers. Recycled rubbish. Not only do the NOT know How to drive, ( high beams on All the time with running lights) slamming brakes for no reason (oh, sorry, they do it when they see bridges, tunnels or other Large, stationary objects and drivers in the Other lanes breaking- also for no apparent reason) But they are Rude and Bitchy on the roads. Driving 40 in the fast lane and get pissy (slamming on those brakes again) when told to “move over dude- this is the Fast lane and 40-50 Ain’t Fast, Really!) Yelling and fingering when flashed to move over or move up. And, you can Turn on a red light Dudes…. Then you have the idiots who think they can rally drive with trucks (high beams on ect) and zig zag across all the lanes, flipping everyone off( or slamming on those brakes again because the jerks don’t know you can just take your fucking foot OFF the gas pedal and the car slows down) So, to those who keep saying how Polite and Nice Oregon drivers are, Bullshit! Get off the roads and get on your bikes. Course, they can’t drive those either and think they are “special” and should be allowed to break all the traffic rules…

sorry anon, i have to disagree. after living in chicago and boston for many years i assure you, oregon drivers are saints compared to their counterparts elsewhere. i’ve seen more roadside assaults in chicago than oregonians honking horns. spend a week somewhere else and then tell me how bad oregon drivers are. you have no idea.

Drivers pull right up behind you as if they don’t know, “you hit my tail bumper, your fault moron!” It’s like they hope you’ll change lanes but what happens when you suddenly break then they hit your back bumper….. come on Portland driving a higher speed limit really doesn’t speed up the travel time… unless those precious 3 min matter.
Once again, I must point out the Portland does not represent all of Oregon. Also, flashing your bright lights to indicate that you want someone to move over is not only rude and illegal, it is also ineffective when used on me because I always move to the right when I finish passing and I won’t be intimidated by you. There is no autobahn in Oregon.

Unfriendly, No. Bad drivers, Yes. They tailgate with lanes open on either side, drive 10mph under the limit, slow down at green lights, sit at green lights, run into the elevator as people are coming out, and wipe their asses before they take a shit.
You get the speed limit you deserve.
