No, not the Canadian kind. But the kind where the person is constantly apologizing for being alive. The fact you told my friend she needed to stop apologizing all the time & in the tone you did…UGH. People who suffer emotional abuse tend to constantly say sorry. When you are told your stupid, lazy, ugly, that someone wished you were never born and you hear this shit from a parent everyday of your life, you believe you don’t have a place in this world. That you take up room and get in everyone’s way. It’s not a “Canadian” thing. It’s a “she was emotionally abused her entire childhood” thing.
YOU should be sorry. Seriously.

Time to move forward. Get therapy. People who apologize for existence need help. If you cared you’d encourage your partner to do this.
If there were no assholes in the world you’d have no broken puppies to protect.
I, Sorrymous
This is too serious a post for me to make my usual jokes about Canada. But they’ll be back, eh?
What a hozer.
I’m sorry, your sorry that your friend is sorry. I think the bully of your friend is a sorry piece of shit. Sorry for my language. It is because of my sorry upbringing.
There’s people like your friend who can’t stop saying sorry…I’m one of them. Then there’s those who only say it at the appropriate time…the perfect ones, I’m sorry, but that’s only in their minds. How about those who say sorry when they don’t mean it? (I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to leave). Then the ridiculers (Oh I’m sooooo Soorry!). To wrap it up (most people love it when I finally wrap it up and I’m sorry for that) there’s the bullies, like the one who snapped at your friend. They never say I’m sorry. My brother would step on his wife’s toe and say “Honey you’re always sneaking up on me! The one that’s new to me is the Canadian thing….enlighten me, please please please….sorry I’m such a pest.
Canada has a thing?
Welcome to the medicated show. heres your host….
Almost all the Canadians I have met, I have found to be quite cheerful.
I think most people realize that too.
But always apologizing for being alive would certainly grate on my nerves after awhile too.
While constantly apologizing for nothing is truly annoying, if you care about a person there are ways of brining them out of that state without making them say “I’m sorry” yet again. Things like “you didn’t do anything wrong” or “you don’t need to apologize” will, over time, help the person be more confident and less apologetic.
