We need some accountability for something that went his past weekend at the Make America Fair at Laurelhurst Park. For the record, I was invited to perform my marching cello at the event and, since the gear is heavy, i brought someone along to help, one of SE Portland’s favorite clowns and my dear friend.
The two of us got down to the part around 1:30 and were frolicking around playing music & clowning with peaceful folk at the park. And yes it was a political event, there were mostly middle to late age people sharing general information about military spending & calling for peace and arms embargos. Pretty harmless stuff.
And then sometime around 3pm a crew of about 10 Pro Trump agitators, led by a well known miscreant we will simply & anonymously refer to as ‘T” came along, blaring their loudspeaker & megaphones at people, they had easily 8 cameras filming from every angle like an aggressive pack of wasps. It was clear they weren’t here to do anything other than harrass people for the amusement of their internet audiences. We all did our best to ignore them but they repeatedly tried to isolate people to harass them, seeking to get them to say something they’d regret. I asked about these guys & everyones response was that these guys are a mostly harmless thorn in our community.
But I say NO! They are not harmless.
I had left my friend to watch our gear while I was mingling at the event. When I got back he was gone & I saw him walking quickly up the hill being followed by one of those camera bearing miscreants. I wanted to check on him but stayed with the equipment.
Apparently once they had my peaceful clown friend isolated away from everyone else, they surrounded him & started harrassing with abusive slander to try to get him to respond. When he wouldn’t say what they wanted. They pressed harder. When he waved his hand to fend them away. They maced him. That’s assault.
T & his crew Trump brand thugs should be held accountable.—Anonymous
