I don’t know if this will end up being the “deep throat” leak of the Trump Era, but it does seem pretty big: an anonymous “senior official in the Trump administration” just published an op-ed in The New York Times describing an amoral, unfocused, despotic president who has to be reigned in by a secret “resistance” movement among his own political appointees.

That won’t be news to anyone who’s been following, well, the news. But when one of Trump’s own appointees (finally) says it, perhaps there’s a different weight to the words. The anonymous official writes:

But no one wanted to precipitate a constitutional crisis. So we will do what we can to steer the administration in the right direction until — one way or another — it’s over.

No doubt President Trump is going to react well to this one.

UPDATE: Meanwhile, Twitter is on the hunt for the mole’s identity. Here’s an interesting theory:

  1. Yeah, since none of these people have done anything publicly to get the unfit, unhinged, deranged lunatic out of the oval office, who gives a shit? Until someone, ANYONE, in D.C. has the courage to actually DO SOMETHING TO GET THAT SHIT BAG OUT OF THE WHITE HOUSE, everything said (especially anonymously) IS MEANINGLESS. No, anonymous, you do not make us feel any better with your NYT op-ed. IF there were actually any grown-ups in the White House, Dump would have been forcibly removed already. You are not brave, you are not helpful, you are just an enabler who believes talking about what is going on in the WH makes you some sort of admirable person. You are part of the problem. Period.
