Hey Oregonian! This isn’t breaking news.

This is news you read on Blogtown yesterday. About an incident that happened last week.

Sort of reminds me of the time we reported that the Cesar Chavez rename was back in play–it was in our paper on June 26–and you gave it lots of play (and added practically no new information) more than two weeks later.

Huh. Who’s calling the shots over there?

  1. The cookie is all yours. At least this Amy can sleep better knowing her blog beat the Oregonian blog to news.

    Wow, the pride!

Oh and jesus christ your blog is just as bad as the Oregonian’s. Don’t force people to create accounts to post comments. Tell your cluetard IT guys to learn software.

  2. not only that, but I kind of like that people make accounts, at least then maybe it can be the same made up name rather than a new one every week…

  3. People who comment from the Oregonian need to look a bit less bitter when doing so. Otherwise they may as well just leave their direct line cell number on here for us to bitch them out on.

Yes, because there’s nothing at all bitter about noting you got to the story first.

  5. The moving of news from smaller sources to larger sources is a pretty natural thing.

It feels bad when you see another organization taking credit for something you wrote about first, but what can you do?

I’m sure plenty of Merc material has originated in places other than the fertile minds of Merc employees.
