Rupert Murdoch weighed in at a lecture series over the weekend regarding the sharp descent in the business of newspapers with reaction to online sources and overall media technology. Basically, we’re stubborn. That’s what I gathered anyway. I already sent myself to the corner and went to bed without dessert, but you can check out his reasoning in this CNET.com story.

  1. Not you guys the Merc is cutting edge blogoriffic. He means the stuffy stalwart old school newspaper guys that think things like ‘2008 may start to see changes in how people get their news’
    Murdoch is right.

  2. This seems not too surprisingly disingenuous to me. Like corporate control over editorial content and market monopolization has nothing to do with it. The internet has merely filled the gaps left when the powers that be started controlling the content and journalism became commercials for new housing developments and fluff “news”. Murdoch need to take a look in the mirror.
