Unpaid interns could have easily prevented this nonsense with a thorough Googling. It’s really what we do best. Kenny Strasser, aka K-Strass, aka Fire of My Loins tricked five Midwest television stations into giving him their precious airtime and then he just basically shit crazy all over the place. Clearly, they were blinded by his claim of yo-yo greatness. From the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel:
In each case, producers at the television stations received an e-mail from Joe Guehrke, saying he represented Strasser and ZimZam Yo-Yo, “the world’s first ‘green’ ” nonprofit toymaker. Guehrke told the stations that Strasser, whom he called a “master yo-yo artist,” would be in their area to bring his environmental message and “zany sense of humor” to kids.
Guehrke wrote in one e-mail to a TV station that Strasser was a dynamic talk-show guest who comes “equipped with a roster of amazing yo-yo tricks, juggling and fun tips about how kids and adults alike can take small steps to make the world a greener place.
The e-mail solicitation stated that Strasser was a runner-up for Rookie of the Year in 1995, grand champion at the Pensacola Regional and was nominated for the Walt Greenberg Award in 2000. There is no Walt Greenberg Award in yo-yo, and there is no evidence Pensacola ever hosted a yo-yo tournament or that Strasser won a rookie of the year award.”
When you have the opportunity to book a yo-yo master, there is no time for fact checking! Strasser’s amazing tricks included swinging a yo-yo around in circles and then hitting himself in the balls. Here’s video of this, oh, let’s say “performance artist” making a mockery of journalism and America™ and all men in yellow baseball caps forever.

Come on, January. He didn’t make a mockery of journalism, the journalists were doing a fine job of that themselves. He simply exploited it for the sake of hilarious comedy.
So good.
K-Strass: “Let bring it on home for a clean landing. 10-4!”
Loser Journalist: “Are you okay?” FTW
nardalicious.
“Zip Zap LLC dot com, that’s right” even though his t-shirt says “Zim Zam” in giant letters.
So awesome.
