Look, I used to work for a local TV news station, so I know first-hand how upper management wants to boost ratings no matter what—but the level of sensationalistic fakery in this Utah Fox affiliate’s news story is a bit… too… much!
Background: A dangerous crosswalk becomes the subject of an expose for the news team, who decides to fake a near collision between a car and a teenager “live” on camera. (Look for the driver to throw the car into gear before moving into the crosswalk.) EVEN BETTER? The teen backs up, hits the curb, trips and falls—though the reporter claimed she was “so shaken up… SHE COLLAPSED.”
OH, BROTHER! And? BOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Okay, so you worked for a local TV station yourownself. Let’s see you produce a better fake news story. As long as it accurately represents a real story, then it might actually be journalistically sound. For instance, how about you bait some cops into beating the crap out of you just for being a smartass and have Ivan’s day sue the city?
Yeah, like the MERC is above putting out silly articles just meant to get people reading and talking about it, right?
At least the Merc’s fake stories are funny. This hoax sounds utterly boring, stupid, unfunny and totally irresponsible. I dont know for sure because l have absolutely no desire to watch the clip.
Like the new column article from the ghost profile by the Merc on behalf of the JTTF, as if of a 14 year old girl who never heard of Madonna, in order to bait pervs.
