It’s a shitty bootleg, but here’s the teaser for Joss Whedon’s The Avengers that’ll play (A) after Captain America‘s end credits, (B) at Comic-Con later this week, or (C) at both of those things, the latter ad nauseum. I’m guessing a better version will hit the web when the official version comes out, but until then, squint your way through this. Thanks to Grant for the heads up.

ALSO: Perhaps because the strategy worked so well for the mega-flop Green Lantern, Captain America isn’t screening for critics until after our press deadlines, so we won’t have a review of it in this week’s paper—but the Mercury‘s resident Captain America superfan, Ezra “Bucky” Caraeff, will have a review online on Thursday. That’s when we’ll also have a review for the Justin Timberlake/Mila Kunis joint Friends with Benefits, which, as far as I can tell, is about two extremely attractive people doing it, and thus will probably be pretty excellent.

With honor and distinction, Erik Henriksen served as the executive editor of the Portland Mercury from 2004 to 2020. He can now be found at henriksenactual.com.

  1. No Ant-Man, though? (He’ll get his own second-tier movie eventually, from what I heard after I put my antennae up…)

  2. @dmitrir: Huh. I guess I was so stunned by the immensity of Humphrey’s font that I didn’t even make it to the comments. My bad!
