The dead will shamefully walk again!

Remember when Michael Jackson died and director Kenny Ortega put together a bunch of footage from the last tour he was preparing and released it as a movie? Remember how embarrassing that was? Well get ready to squirm because, according to Deadline, Ortega is attached to direct a new MJ cash-in: a feature length movie based on the song “Thriller”.

The article also says that Jeremy Garelick, the guy who wrote The Hangover, is attached to write the screenplay. And this:

Plot is being kept under wraps but I understand it has to do with the song’s folklore, involving Vincent Price and the town he grew up in.

What the fuck, world?! Must we fuck with one of the most iconic videos of all time? Can we please just go back to that national mindset after MJ’s death where we were pretending he didn’t molest all those kids and his professional career just stopped on a high around 1987? Dude’s legacy is tarnished enough without the equivalent of his Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band album being turned into the equivalent of the Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Heart’s Club Band movie.

  1. Are you nuts, Mr. Bow? I saw “This Is It” three times and it was great & got greater with each viewing. It deserved every honor it was given, and I’m looking forward to a full-length film based on Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” video.
As for your taste, Mr. Bow, I can only shake my head in wonder at how poor it is!

  2. You know, much as I love Agent MJ, I’m happy for Vincent Price to get some long overdue re-adulation. If they just threw together 90 minutes of his amazing voice with MJ moonwalking back and forth, I’d be pleased.
