Here’s the video for Starfucker’s “Quality Time” again (we originally showed it to you here). Starfucker is teaming up again with the video’s director, Chris Michael Birkmeier, to score a feature film titled In Bloom, written and directed by Birkmeier. Production on the film, which is reported to be “a gritty, personal, and realistic look at the gay-youth culture in present day Chicago,” begins in August (they’re still in the fundraising stage), but there are some reports on what Starfucker’s contributions will sounds like, according to the press release:
Fans of STRFKR can expect to hear a familiar sound, but with a darker twist as the group moves their signature sound from the stage to the big screen. Following the likes of Trent Reznor (NIN), [Josh] Hodges explains, “I’m specifically excited for the challenge of making music to fit an established feeling rather than just making whatever I want. I like being challenged by constraints, it’s creative in a different way,” says Hodges of composing music for film.

  1. For *FIVE DOLLARS* you can get “A special thanks in the film’s end credits”? Sign of a pretty low-budget film. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.

Someone should donate five bucks in the name of “Boat Cop.”
