East End has announced a benefit for Jonathan Toubin, the New York DJ who was seriously injured last week when a Radio Cab crashed into his room at the Jupiter Hotel. The medical expenses are a bit of a snarl right now, and East End is raising funds that will enable Toubin’s father to stay here in Portland while he is recuperating in the hospital.

According to the IheartJT Facebook page, Toubin’s family says, “The Toubin family is so grateful for the love and support of everyone at this emotional time. Jonathan is still in critical condition and needs your positive thoughts and prayers for a quick recovery. Please keep your love and energy flowing.”

East End’s benefit will take place this Friday, December 16. The lineup will include DJ Beyonda, DJ A Train, a band with some members of the Dandy Warhols, and perhaps some other acts to be confirmed. Additionally, the Paypal that has been set up to aid Toubin is ihearttoubin@gmail.com.

    .

  2. This is something that has relatively nothing to do with the subject of this article, so not to take away from the recovery or support of Mr. Toubin, but I’d love to know where this image came from?

Because for years I’ve recognized this as the icon for the t-shirt of the Jim Turbert Fanclub. Jim is a friend of mine who’s totally had this image going on for years and years (at least for like 10 years or whatever) and I saw your blog post and I was like “Jim Turbert!” But then I was like “Oh man, something else.”

So anyway the point is: people can love a JT, and it won’t always be the same JT.

PS Full support to Jonathan Toubin’s recovery!
