I get a lot of press releases, but it’s been a minute since I’ve heard anything this good from a new artist. This morning I received an email about a song that I can honestly say I’m playing on repeat: “Days” by Portland rapper A Mitch (AKA Adrian Mitchell). It’s from his album Pro Bono, which he released earlier this year.

“Days” is excellentโ€”the production, the haunting piano melody, A Mitch’s flowโ€”as is the rest of Pro Bono. The track’s accompanying music video was beautifully shot by local director Erik Eagon. It finds A Mitch stranded at the Oregon Coast, spoofing Cast Away as he moves through the waterfalls and woods with his very own Wilson.

Before today I’d never heard of this guyโ€”neither had the Mercury‘s copy chief/”Sneaker Wave” columnist Jenni Mooreโ€”but it’s safe to say he has our attention.
