In the wake of the news that punk supergroup OFF! was arrested in Arizona, and now face criminal charges for their alleged theft of used vegetable oil from behind a restaurant, we decided to drop a line to Portland’s very own Quiet Life.

Still on tour in support of this year’s Big Green LP, the band travels in a converted Diesel van that runs on grease, not gas. Frontman Sean Spellman took a moment to give us the fascinating details on the logistics of converting a tour van, where to find the best “golden” grease, and if this alternative fuel source makes their van smell like egg rolls. Spoiler alert: It totally does!
