Another week, another Mercury music section to read while you stare longingly at these Photoshopped iconic album covers. Looks like Cat Friday just came a day early.
Not to be confused with Ms. Heaven Lee (star of such SpectraVision classics as A Girl’s Affair 11), Mister Heavenly is the new super-duper group that includes Nick Thorburn (Islands/Unicorns), Ryan Kattner (AKA Honus Honus of Man Man), Joe Plummer (The Shins, Black Heart Procession), and definitely not Michael Cera. He quit to join Dr. Funke’s 100% Natural Good-Time Family Band Solution.

Obits – “Everything Looks Better In The Sun”
What is this, 2004? For some strange reason we put a temporary hold on our “CD reviews are obsolete and no longer relevant” policy and review Mirror Traffic, the new album from Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks.

Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks – “Forever 28”
End Hits: Unfortunately the new Malkmus album is not a tribute to Traffic. Oh Steve Winwood, they don’t understand you like I do.
