Hello Blogtown, I’m Kamala. Another mercury intern with something on my mind. In the future I hope to write blog posts that relate to something or another, but until then: ukuleles. Seems like it’s pretty hip these days to dabble in the ukulele. And while it’s a tad cutesy, there’s something about the tinkling of those little strings, especially in these foggy winter months, that really does bring forth happy thoughts of sun and sand. So I’m delighted to share this video featuring Dent May, a young, uncle-ish looking fellow, who plays sweet ukulele diddies. If you’re like me, you’ll take a little mental vacation while watching (or just listening) and pretend to feel sun on your face. And if you’re really into it, he’ll be playing at the Doug Fir on Feb 22.

I love Wes Anderson.
Perhaps someone should head down to Tony Starlights and git some edumakation. Oh, and Blink 182 didn’t invent punk.
too bad you just missed Ukelele goddess Uni and her Ukelele. Report back after you’ve looked her up…
Dee Settlemeir pwns this guy.
(Kamala- I’m on saccatical, but feel the need to commend you on introducing yourself in a manner that makes you look exponentially brighter than Molly or Matthew. That said, I must add to the influx of “when wasn’t uke trendy?”. Try taking a time machine to Olympia ten years ago, it might change your opinions).
Anyone else hearing a bit of Stephen Merritt in there? I mean that in the best possible way.
