Last night Wild Flag stopped by David Letterman’s show to play “Romance,” and lo, the blood did spill. Actually, you can’t really tell that Carrie Brownstein ripped open her thumb during the performance, but it’s clear the band is taking no prisoners—that includes you, bloody thumbs—as they bring their excellent live show in front of the cameras. Paul Shaffer, for one, is impressed: “This is my new favorite band!” he proclaims.

End Hits: The CBS Orchestra is NOT going to be happy to hear that, Paul.

  1. Fucking flawless and rocked out performance. The last couples of I,As have a lot to learn from this stage show presentation song. Better yet, buy the Album!

  2. I really wanted to like this band, but they sound like a washed-up Go-Go’s revival. Sorry to disrespect. Maybe I’m not getting the irony or something.

  3. Is Leaky their promoter or a relative? What is an I,As? I don’t understand how their last couples have a lot to learn. I’m confused and slightly bored.

  4. I think it’s a really solid album. This performance doesn’t necessarily do the song justice– it’s a little more uptight and nervous, I think. I <3 Janet Weiss, though, she always rocks.

I,A is the “I, Anonymous” column.
