I don’t really care about their music, but I like their funny pictures. I’m starting a music career where I do nothing but pose for funny pictures and post flyers for my shows at the Rat Fuck.
Do people like this band for real? I thought they were a joke. Is it a weed thing? Is that why people like them?
If you care enough to do some sleuthing, there’s been other art projects Ninja (or whatever his name is) has been involved with previous to Die Antwoord, some films are on Youtube.
I don’t think this group was created to intentionally become a pop sensation, and I’m not sure they’ve figured out what to do with the fame they acquired. That said, they are smart and interesting, especially when they break character in interviews:
