
The Parkrose High School student who brought a loaded shotgun to campus last Friday, May 17, has been charged in Multnomah County Circuit Court (MCCC) for two felonies and two misdemeanors. Angel Granados Diaz, 19, faces two counts of possessing a firearm inside a public building, one count of being in possession of a loaded firearm in public, and one count of recklessly endangering.
Court documents allege that Granados Diaz โdid unlawfully and intentionally possess a loaded firearm while inside Parkrose High School,โ according to a media release from the Multnomah County District Attorneyโs Office.
Granados Diaz was wrestled to the ground by Parkrose football coach and former University of Oregon football star Keanon Lowe before he was able to fire the gun. Parkroseโs campus was subsequently evacuated Friday afternoon, but students were back in class on Monday.
Granados Diaz has been in custody at Multnomah County Jail since early Saturday morning. His bail is set at $500,000.
MCCC Judge Michael C. Zusman charged Granados Diaz on Monday afternoon. His next court appearance is scheduled for Wednesday, May 29.
