Portland will join cities across the country tonight in supporting Planned Parenthood with “Pink Out Portland.”
KOIN news reported earlier today that supporters of Planned Parenthood will start arriving at Dig a Pony, 736 SE Grand, at 5 pm. Speakers are scheduled to begin at 6 pm.
“#PINKOUT Portland is an opportunity to mobilize supporters to demonstrate our widespread support, and to learn how to get involved,” according to Dig a Pony’s Instagram. “There will be speakers, pink drink specials to benefit the organization, and a roomful of love for Planned Parenthood.”
The events scheduled across the country are happening in response to some members of Congress trying to defund Planned Parenthood.
The Mercury‘s Megan Burbank is attending the Dig a Pony event. Check Blogtown to find out how it went.
