Remember how back in May I wrote this piece about Supportland, the local-business incentive plan that they don’t like to say is the creation of a new sub-currency but kind of is? And how back then it was slated to launch on June 10 but never did? Well it’s finally launching! Sorta! Beta! Tomorrow! Early adopters start out with a grip of free points to get it started to sign on now to take advantage before it’s too late, and look forward to testing out the new system at businesses ranging from a dentist’s office to bike shops to antique stores to lingerie boutiques, and so much more. They’ve had an inner circle of beta testers milling around for a short time, but you should start spotting the cards in businesses this week. Finally.

Stay tuned for the official launch party this fall…

According to my records, I signed up for this on 03/04/2010. Where’s my beta invite??!?
Also, this is already happening in Germany.
Hi Graham! I just polished off the beta invite and we should be sending it out tonight!
Yay! Way to go Supportland!
And Marjorie you somehow totally forgot to mention awesome baby boutiques like…

Get a card, get some points, get connected to the local economy.
Anyone have any examples of faux local businesses?
