Investigators from the Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crash Team are asking the public’s help in identifying a Tri-Met bus passenger that got off the bus involved in the fatal accident on Saturday night. This male passenger exited the bus at NW Glisan and Broadway just prior to the accident. The bus dropped the passenger off at the North curb line on NW Glisan Street before making the turn southbound onto NW Broadway. Investigators would like to interview this man as part of the ongoing investigation of the fatal accident.
A photograph of the passenger is attached to this news release. Anyone with information concerning the identity of the passenger is asked to call Officer Peter Kurronen at 503-823-2208.

No they aren’t, PPB are.
Put this in “Missed Connections” – maybe that will work.
He looks a little like a skinny Frank Marshall.
Hmm… with that jacket he kinda looks like a building security guard.
If he was dropped off at the north curb on Glisan and the bus made a left turn going southbound onto Broadway the bus would have to make an illegal lefthand turn crossing a lane of traffic.
I live in the area and see buses do this regularly.
If the man was dropped of at the north curb on Glisan and the bus made a left turn onto Brodway the driver would have to make an illegal lefthand turn crossing a thru lane of traffic.
I live in the neighborhood and see buses do this regularly.
Put this in the WWeek – more their demographic.
Is that Ralph Nader?
Leland Palmer?

Remember about 1 year ago in the Oregonian where they reported “Bus Drivers Gone Wild” and some poor bus driver jumped 2 lanes on Grand Ave. and according to the unmarked police car the bus almost hit him? Well that cop claimed a bus must travel 100′ before making any lane changes and gave the bus driver a ticket. How many feet are there between N.W. 6th Ave & N.W. Broadway and just where is this line 17 stop located in reference to Broadway? Probably not a good place to let people off at any time of the day or night & then make a left turn onto Broadway from the far right lane, ya think?

IMO, the incompetent people who hired, trained & failed to do follow up training for Sandi L. Day are just as liable for these two deaths. If the families were smart they would go after the Garage manager, Garage Trainer and those who interviewed and hired her personally. I am deeply sorrowed by this horrific accident and I feel very great Sympathy for the families losses, this is just simply inexcusable behavior.
That guy is so creepy looking maybe he posessed her. Leland Palmer indeed, and Killer Bob too.
Did he not pay his fare?
Looks like Kain from Poltergeist.
“All God’s children…la-da-dee-da…”

Oh really. I live in the area and recently moved here from New York. How do you know? I saw an interview with a couple who were there and survived the accident. They said if it didn’t happen to them it would have happened to someone. Right. I can’t go from old town to safeway in the pearl in my car without having to slam on my breaks because some pedestrian decides it was a good time to cross the street in oncoming traffic. Try that in New York and you lose your life. There comes a time when we need to take personal responsibility for our own safety. Think about it. Pedestrians have the right of way which I understand. But when it comes down to you and a motor vehicle, whose going to lose? I’m not saying that it was anyones fault and I’m so sorry for the people who lost their lives and my heart and prayers goe out to the families. I’m just telling you what I see here in Portland. Did they not teach people in public school here to look both ways?
Greetings, Seeguy! Welcome to Portland!
I love NYC, and I lived there for a while when I was in my late teens. That being said, Portland is not New York, despite the kinship we share her. Drive like you’re from New York in Portland, and you will more than likely find yourself as crucified as Sandi Day.
Drive safely here. We demand it!
Cheers and welcome, Jackattak
And also – it’s not like the bus driver chose the route, or decided where the stop should be and where to turn. That’s all set by Tri-Met and city planning. You might as well get upset at the streetcar for making an illegal turn.
