Good morning, Portland! Extra good morning to veterans, a population that is increasingly living without a home and with untreated mental illness in Oregon. Want to support local vets? Here are a few ways your labor and dollars can help.

End of an Era: Bolivia President Evo Morales has resigned amid mass protests (that include members of the military, law enforcement, and country's Congress) accusing socialist Morales of using dictatorial tools to rig elections and tweak constitutional laws to keep himself in power. Morales has reigned over Bolivia for nearly 15 years.

Dispatch From HK: The Hong Kong protests, now in their fifth month, are becoming increasingly violent. Over the weekend, a Hong Kong police officer shot a protester who was blocking traffic and another unidentified person lit another protester on fire.

Fires Down Under: Drought-plagued Australia is aflame with more than one hundred fires, the majority of which are tearing through the country's most populous states. And yet, one of Australia's top political leaders says that claiming these fires are a result of climate change are the “ravings of … inner-city lunatics."

Everyone Hates Zuck: Mark Zuckerberg has made California's Bay Area unrecognizable—in the worst way. In this Vanity Fair piece on Facebook dad, an anonymous venture capitalist (always my favorite source) says Zuckerberg has "fucking destroyed this town,”

Snowflake of Our Time: Donald Trump Jr. left early from a UCLA event where he read from his book "Triggered," after being heckled off stage by right-wing attendees. DTJ's girlfriend Kimberly Guilfoyle told the college-aged audience, “You’re not making your parents proud." Lolz.

Book Thief: Someone keeps hiding anti-Trump library books in hard-to-find spots at the public library in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho—one of the country's hotbeds of white supremacy activity. The culprit has left this note in the library's comment box to explain: “I am going to continue hiding these books in the most obscure places I can find to keep this propaganda out of the hands of young minds."

Wheelin' and Dealin': No, Mayor Ted Wheeler won't be using Portland's public campaign finance program to bankroll his election. But his competitor's participation in the program may make our wealthy mayor's re-election run a little more challenging.

Seeing Red? The future of Portland's bus-only lanes is bright...red.

Thoughts and Prayers: Yes, a Multnomah County judge denied a request by Patriot Prayer's Joey Gibson to dismiss the civil lawsuit filed against him by Cider Riot for a May Day street brawl.

A Parting Cringe:
