GOOD MORNING, BLOGTOWN! Kind hearts don’t make a new story. Kind hearts don’t grab any glory. We’re the kids in America. (Whoa) LET’S GO TO PRESS.

The Oregonian continues to milk their famous “Portland Hug” picture, interviewing one of it’s subjects, Portland police officer Bret Barnum—but for some reason the reporter doesn’t ask why he chose to like a Facebook post supporting Ferguson officer Darren Wilson. Huh. Weird.

More police drama: A grand jury in New York is currently convening to decide whether to indict an officer who killed a black man after putting him in a choke hold. (Note to residents: Pack up your stuff and move out of the city.)

Meanwhile in Chicago, a judge is expected to set a trial date for the police officer who shot and killed a 22-year-old black woman. (Not-so-fun fact: More than one person per month is killed by the Chicago police.)

Facing possible criminal charges, the stepfather of Ferguson’s Michael Brown is being forced to apologize for screaming, “Burn this bitch down” after hearing the grand jury’s decision. (As if the riots weren’t going to happen anyway.)

The House may vote to undo President Obama’s executive orders on immigration—though the President will just turn around and veto it. Cry babies gonna cry.

Speaking of babies, the CDC issues their long-awaited ruling on circumcision, saying that the benefits outweigh the risks—which is terrible news for babies who don’t want to get part of their penises lopped off, but great news for foreskin collectors.

Speaking of babies again, the Supremes have agreed to hear the case of a mom who claims that her employer, UPS, violated the Pregnancy Discrimination Act by trying to force her to lift heavy packages two months after having her baby.

R.I.P. Bobby Keys, a self-taught musician who went on to play saxophone for numerous rock outfits, including the Rolling Stones.

Like it or love it? Jordan Catalano will be playing The Joker in the upcoming Suicide Squad.

Now here’s what’s going on in your neck of the woods: Cloudy and warmer today, showers return tomorrow.

And finally, in today’s installment of “Stupid, Stupid Puppy”—a compilation of “dog fetch fails!” Catch the frisbee, you stupid puppy!!
