I’m going to have to disagree with you here. When I was in high school white boys would sometimes bring in swords, knives, and box cutters and then brag about them to other students. School admin usually did nothing or say that the kid was “eccentric”. At the worst they would confiscate the weapon until the end of the day. One time a guy I knew brought in a sword and was literally swinging it around in one of the fields. Teachers were like, “Whatever. He’ll run out of energy soon.”
This kid in the news right now is a science nerd who was wearing a NASA shirt. In some HS tech classes students learn about currents on bread and circuit boards. No one calls the cops on them. The double-standard here is blaring.
