It’s rare to find a politician who will actually break party ranks, and that’s why Republicans and Democrats alike are expressing surprise and sadness today upon hearing that Republican State Representative Frank Morse is resigning from his seat.

While usually siding with Republicans, Morse took his own stance on issues like tuition equity and the corporate kicker.

Why he’s resigning is not entirely clear. It could be that he’s just tired of the legislative grind. The 69-year-old representative told the Statesman Journal, “There comes a time in your life that you know it’s time to go.”
