We’re mere hours away from tonight’s VP debate, and I’m already giddy at the prospect of toasting Sarah Palin’s gaffes.
Join us at the Clinton Street Theater at SE 26th and Clinton, where there’s HD TV and your own comfy seat.
Or, catch us at Roots Organic Brewing at SE 7th and Hawthorne–where there’s a tiny change in plans (for this debate only). Due to a communications breakdown (I blame Palin), we don’t have both rooms, so it’ll be, um, cozy in the main pub space. If you want to stick to that part of town, however, there are TVs and plenty of space at two locations within a few blocks: The Ladd’s Inn at SE 12th and Clay, a block south of Hawthorne, and at Madison’s Grill, at SE 11th and Madison, a block north of Hawthorne. The folks from Drinking Liberally will be at Madison’s, as a bonus!
See you tonight.

Do you know any bars in Northeast that will be showing the debate tonight?
I believe Kennedy School (they showed the first one, at least). And Mash Tun was showing Obama’s acceptance speech the last night of the DNC, so it probably wouldn’t be tough to convince them to flip it on, if it’s not on already.
Don’t forget to print out and bring your Palin bingo cards. You can get them at http://www.palinbingo.com/
Any place in Portland that’s going to be airing the Current TV cable channel’s feed of the debate, with Twitter messages superimposed?
At Grand Central Restaurant and Bowl we’ll be showing the debate upstairs in the Morrison Room.
And I’m all a-twitter for a Republican win!
Oh Monty, didn’t they tell you? Republicans aren’t allowed to win such media events.
We won’t have Current TV, but Davis and I will be liveblogging from Roots.
