In one week, precisely at noon, the city’s latest (patented!) “Portland Loo” will mark its ceremonial first flush. It will be Portland’s fourth public toilet—and also its most controversial, thanks to outcry from Pearl District NIMBYs who apparently have never, ever, ever been caught outside without a decent place to piss late at night. The new toilet, which will open for business after about a month of work, is over at NW 11th and Johnson.

  1. Seriously Randy Leonard, it’s a public toilet. This is what passes for accomplishment in Portland. Good jobs or schools is aiming too high, so we build a public toilet and our “leaders” go out to dance around it.

  2. Good idea but really sketchy people always hanging around them/occupying them rendering them useless for those of us who need to use them for #1 or #2….
