This story needs no introduction. From the Sellwood Nextdoor site:

Hello everyone. In the last two months we’ve had two dolls show up in our yard. They’re a little disconcerting, as you can see in the photos. The first was found back in January, and was placed outside our bathroom window in the backyard. The second showed up this morning, by our front steps.

If anyone knows who made these, I’d love to chat. There’s probably a simple and innocent explanation, but I want to make sure.

Rest assured, there is no “simple and innocent explanation.”

Bang bang, choo-choo train, let me see you shake that thang. Wm. Steven Humphrey is the editor-in-chief of the Portland Mercury and has held the job since 2000. (So don’t get any funny ideas.)

  1. Did the Doll Asylum move? Thought it was still up at 6315 N Michigan Ave. Maybe these 2 escaped. Should probably take them north and return them.

  2. While on the one hand I hope this is real, if it’s fake, this is an absolutely brilliant trolling of that insufferable website.
