Portlanders are coming up with some fun and irresistible ways that we can all help send aid to the disaster in the Gulf. Here’s a summary of what’s set up so far:
Three-month-long concert series (starts this weekend!):
Starting July 15 and continuing into September. Music covers all genres from rock to funk, jazz, blues, indie, punk, and so forth. Suggested donation is $10.
Tonight kicks off 9 pm at the Laurelthirst with Miss Michael Jodell & The Slow Healers, followed by the James Low Western Front. Saturday the party’s at Biddy McGraw’s (also at 9 pm) with the Little Sue Band and Lisa & Her Kin.

All you can eat oysters!
Only $30 to schuck all-you-can-eat, sustainably-harvested oysters, or $15 for all-you-can-eat veggie jambalaya. Free beer!

Fine dining expert Chef Adam Higgs of Acadia New Orleans Bistro dishes out tasty seafood while Anthony Walton of Beaker and Flask mixes the drinks. Live music, not to mention Don Q Puerto Rican rum! This fundraiser is sponsored by art center Disjecta and the Oregon Bar Guild. $40 minimum donation.
