Thank God they closed it! Parents should never be allowed to drop their ill-behaved, unsupervised children off at someone’s business. It wasn’t a daycare! Actually, almost everything has changed at Sip & Kranz (Thank you new owners!!!)…I went on Saturday and it was FANTASTIC!
I used to love Sip and Kranz – primarily because of the playroom. It was a great place to go after shopping at the Pearl shops or taking the kids out to the fountain. But, current owners hate kids (as apparent from an email I received from her – kids are noisy, dirty and carry disease and liability). Eh. The food was never fabulous and there are a million and one other places to get coffee in Portland. S&P is now filled with people who generally dislike kids, and it’s sterile and boring to boot. I won’t be back. If you want a playroom, head to Anna Bananas or (new! awesome!) Posies in North Portland.
Sip & Kranz is so much better now that those pesky children are gone! I love going to Sip & Kranz and getting a quiet place to sit and do my work. Plus – the food is amazing and you can’t beat Stumptown coffee.
