Spotted at 78th and Stark. And no, that is not Comic Sans…it is a knock-off font.

  1. I almost took a picture of this sign too. It’s so strange. The woman on her back seems to suggest that she’s fallen down or is unable to get up in a seemly manner. Then the name of the store, “Been There,” is almost like a consoling remark as to the universality of that situation, like, “I hear ya sister. Been there. Had one of those days.” Yet the woman is dressed as if she’s gone out of the house for some sort of purpose–she’s not just in her sweat suit, sad and sitting at home on the couch watching Netflix. Yet her head appears slightly elevated as if she’s reclining on a pillow. The whole thing seems vaguely ominous and resigned and confounding. So from all this, I assume this store sells clothes that are perfect for falling down in.

  2. This is an awesome shop, owned by the (niece? sister?) of the super-rad & hilarious woman pictured on the sign. I don’t fully support the font choice, but they knew what they were doing in selecting that photo to use.
