Science Daily:

A new study of 434 young heterosexual couples ages 18-25 found that, in 40 percent of couples, only one partner says the couple agreed to be sexually exclusive. The other partner said there was no agreement.

Remember, kids: monogamy is natural and normal and humans are a naturally monogamous species and we evolved in sexually exclusive pairs over hundreds of thousands of years… which explains why we’re so bad at it.

  1. Forty percent of the couples interviewed at OSU are in disagreement about whether they agreed to not sleep around. Sounds about right for young couples at an American college campus.

The study could be evidence that dishonesty may be natural for some people, but I don’t think they’ve proven that it is desirable.

  2. Okay, we get it, forgive some of us who prefer to be monogamous.
You know, the majority of people don’t give a shit if you have one partner, two partners, or 500 partners. You don’t need to harp on this nor do you need to constantly try to legitimize polyamorous relationships.
It’s a personal and private choice between lovers, who cares about studies or whether it’s natural/unnatural. Move along.
