T.$poon, "Mud"

Northeast Portland legend T.$poon has been putting out great music for about a decade, and he stays on trend with "Mud," an Auto-Tune-assisted, laid-back street anthem featuring Destodubb. Complete with a cameo-filled video shot and directed by Mike Tate in conjunction with No Jumper, “Mud” makes for a catchy summer bop.

Swiggle Mandela, Figure 8 feat. Cool Nutz, “Busy Busy Busy”

Portland-based rapper Swiggle Mandela and Detroit native Figure 8 have been hard at work on their upcoming album, Fig & Swig Too, and decided to drop the bouncy track “Busy Busy Busy” featuring Cool Nutz. The J. Hixson-produced single got a video treatment as well, notably highlighting the Black-owned Rip City Tacos food cart. (Prominence w/Swiggle Mandela & Mic Capes, La Familia Gang Music, K Prynce, Lil Swag, Timmi Hendrixxx: Thurs June 20, Bit House Saloon, 727 SE Grand, $15-20)

Kingsley, "Angel"

If you're up for some easygoing listening, Portland upstart Kingsley showed off some serious singing and songwriting chops on her recent single, "Angel," a deceptively gorgeous song about being the toxic one in a relationship. The song is out now as a tease for the R&B/folk-pop artist's forthcoming acoustic project.

Qing Qi, Raquel Divar, Nina XO, Rambo Rich

Portland bass/rap staple Raquel Divar snagged bubbling Bay Area phenom Qing Qi for a very special night at Kelly's Olympian on June 22. Rambo Rich and the amazing Nina XO provide support on the bill, rounding out what should be an empowering Saturday evening for the ladies.

(Sat June 22, 9 pm, Kelly’s Olympian, 426 SW Washington, $7; w/DJ Whateveryn, Myrie)

Thirsty City's Five-Year Anniversary

On Wednesday, June 26, local label Thirsty City Records celebrates their five-year anniversary (no small feat!). On top of showcasing the talents of local DJs Devonwho, Deena Bee, Thoto_Leing, and NorthernDraw—who will be celebrating his own vinyl release on the label—they're welcoming Bay Area DJ/MC/producer Jay3M.

(Wed June 26, 8 pm, White Owl Social Club, 1305 SE 8th, FREE)

Entourage Yacht Party PDX

Go get your 'fit together now because there's a party on a boat this summer! That's right: On Friday, July 5, the Black Mannequin and Crawl Intentions are hosting a late-night hip-hop cruise, complete with a full bar and catered buffet. The evening will feature performances from artists like 1 Young Micah, Hollywood Brittany, Mighty, and Sour Deez (plus a twerking contest after midnight that'll give the best rump-shakers a chance to win $500). I've heard rumors of a legendary addition on the way, but we'll have to see how that pans out. For $30, this might be the stunt of the summer.

(Fri July 5, board at 10 pm, party at 10:30 pm, Portland Spirit, 1020 SW Naito, $30)
