Strap on your skate face, it’s roller derby mania with three Rose City Rollers bouts and a scrimmage at the Hangar at Oaks Park (7805 SE Oaks Park Way) this weekend. Here’s a breakdown:
It’s those icy vixens the Heartless Heathers vs. the Thrill Kill Kittens out of Salem. Friday, Jan. 28 at 8 pm, $7 (at the door, no advance tickets on sale)
There’s a skaters-only scrimmage going down Saturday afternoon, gearing up for the first game of the 2011 season with the Break Neck Betties vs. the Guns N Rollers, who seem to be the underdogs this season. Saturday, Jan. 29, 6 pm, $14. Get your tickets through the Merc‘s ticketing service.
Finish the weekend on an adorable (yet ferocious) note with the ankle-biters of Portland’s Rosebuds junior league as they take on the Kitsap Derby Brats from Port Orchard, Washington, in an informal scramble. Sunday, Jan. 30, 3 pm, $5 (at the door, no advance tickets on sale)
Hey, who’s up for some skating at the roller rink after Saturday’s game?

I’m up for some skating. How long do these roller derby matches generally run?
I think it’s over at 8 pm.
