Now that you know how everybody in the world feels about the “Daniel Tosh Brakeless Rape Steamroller Event of 2012,” here’s a funny little comeuppance story to help clear the palate. As you may have heard, Tosh has a new animated sitcom called Brickleberry that was supposed to be previewed tonight at the San Diego Comic-Con. However, not all is going as planned. From Splitsider:
Tosh has been the subject of some recent controversy surrounding rape jokes he made, and there are apparently a whole slew of them in the Brickleberry pilot. So they’re scrambling to pull all of them out before the screening, but according to one inside source, “everyone is freaking out, because most of the pilot is about rape.”
HAHAHAHAAAAA! Whoops.
Also, The Onion is weighing in, too. “Daniel Tosh Chuckles Through Own Violent Rape.”

I’m famous! But now I’m “The rape-is-funny guy” for the rest of my life! But I’m famous! But in a few months I won’t be famous anymore! But I’ll still be “The rape-is-funny guy”! *changes name to Gerald Wilson, gets job at Costco*
Tosh should give Andrew “Dice” Clay a call and ask how his career is going these days.
If Daniel Tosh leaves half the legacy that “Dice” Clay has left, I’m sure Tosh will be happy.
Trying to change the pilot at the last minute is the wrong way to go. If he’s going to be the rape comic, he needs to own it and be the rape comic. None of this half assed bullshit. That’s just like basic “defining your image 101”
“most of the pilot is about rape”
Sounds like a knee-slapper.
If raping the audience member would have been funny and funny things are good, then at least some rapes are good. So scary. If you think “jokes” of which rape victims are the butt are funny you must not know what it’s like to walk to your car alone at night through a dark parking lot or to walk past an ally at night or to take an early jog or to be a woman alone in public. It’s not funny that women can’t use public spaces without fearing that someone bigger will attack us and insert themselves into our bodies against our will. Women don’t enjoy the same bodily integrity that men do. That’s why it is so annoying when men say, “rape jokes are fiiiiiine”. I don’t really think it’s your place to decide whether rape jokes are fine.
