While the inclusion of executive producer Seth McFarlane (Family Guy, Ted, part of the reason why the world is a terrible place) makes me want to go screaming into the night, I will hope and pray that his involvement is minuscule and Fox’s reboot of Carl Sagan’s Cosmos is going to rock it. It’s hosted by your favorite astrophysicist Neil DeGrasse Tyson… soooo… there’s that! It debuts on March 9, and here’s the first trailer.

  1. When I click “play” it just says “this video is private” and stops. Is this another attempt to fool us into watching one of WSH’s “private videos.”

  4. Hmmm… “Life on Earth is an unsolved mystery” is not the best pull-quote to use in this trailer. Sounds kind of anti-science. I guess I’m just sensitive to anything that could lead up to “there’s so much we don’t know”, which feeds a throw-your-hands-in-the-air attitude about the nature of reality.
