The new season of the clever, funny, sexy, all-around-great current iteration of Doctor Who starts on Saturday, April 23, on BBC America. It’ll be the first of a two-part episode written by showrunner Steven Moffat, the same dude responsible for that badass new Sherlock show. (“Crunching of gears: from Who to Sherlock,” Moffat tweeted early this morning. “Basically fewer exclamation marks.”) I’ve watched this trailer three times already. Might watch it again here in a minute, actually.

  1. Fucking stupid British show my dad watched when I was growing up.

Only good thing it ever accomplished was make a pretty neat theme song for better, more creative people to remix.

Why can’t we get all excited about good BBC series like Doc Martin or Cracker?

  2. I liked the first season of the “new” Doctor Who the best, but Tom Baker + Lalla Ward + K9 will forever occupy a phonebooth shaped hole in my heart. Seriously, that is the most entertaining shit ever.

  3. @kiala: I watched a couple of seasons of the reboot and a season of Torchwood. When is it supposed to be good and not just live action adaptations of slash-fiction?

  4. Wait. What I really want to know is….

Which pubs will be hosting Dr. Who nights, showing the newest episodes?

Lushes, too arrogant for TV, NEED to know!!!
